The General Tour

....a personal and private introduction to this most beautiful city...

Walk Itinerary....This is a 4 hour private walk of Venice which will
introduce you and your wife, husband, or friends to this special place.
You will see the beauty of Venice and learn about its rich history;
you'll get a good feel how genuine Venetians used to live
and how they live now.

The walk includes many of the famous sights such as St. Mark's Square ("The finest drawing room in Europe..." Napoleon), the Frari and Miracoli, San Marco, Marco Polo, Fenice, Zanipolo, Rialto, Bridge of Sighs. We'll stop for a cappuccino along the way and take a traghetto, a gondola crossing the Grand Canal in which one stands.

We will also visit some of the less travelled areas of Venice where Venetians live and which are away from the congestion of the St Mark's area, discussing the treasures, oddities, and artistic and architectural heritage of this unique city.

This is a great walk to take when you first arrive in Venice so that you'll have a good feel for the city and be able to plan the remainder of your too short holiday. We also provide suggested additional itineraries: works of art, restaurants, and other notable or hidden Venetian sights.
